United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg

United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg serves the region’s neighborhoods and rural areas alike, providing direct services and support to partners in the cities of Richmond, Petersburg and Colonial Heights as well as the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent and Powhatan – 11 different localities in all. We do research and data analysis to understand problems that affect real people – all in an effort to understand trends and pinpoint areas that need our help the most. From that knowledge, we fund programs in our community that provide help for individuals in those most needed areas. Then, we bring together government agencies, other nonprofits, religious organizations, schools, businesses and community members to create community-wide solutions that eliminate the root causes of these problems. And finally, we share what we know to empower everyone to find a path to success. Your contribution to United Way helps people who live here in the Greater Richmond & Petersburg region. Your gift does more than just support people who are in urgent need right now — you also support meaningful, lasting change that impacts our entire community.
