Mission Rebuild Nepal (MRN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in Virginia, USA, founded in 2015 in the immediate aftermath of Nepal's devastating earthquake. Established by a group of Nepali doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, and community volunteers living abroad, MRN exists to raise and responsibly manage funds that help disaster-affected and underprivileged communities in Nepal — through rescue, relief, and long-term rebuilding. Our Track Record In our first major response, MRN ran mobile medical camps and delivered food and emergency shelter to thousands of earthquake survivors. We went on to rebuild an entire village — 800 transitional homes in Sipapokhare — and restored its school, giving an entire community a place to return to. During the COVID-19 crisis, we coordinated the delivery of ten oxygen plants and critical medical supplies to hospitals across Nepal at a time of acute shortage. We continue to support a school for children with disabilities in Kathmandu, reflecting our commitment to those most often left behind. 2026 Flash Flood Response — Rasuwa & Trishuli Corridor In August 2026, catastrophic flash floods struck Nepal's Rasuwa district and the Trishuli river corridor, wiping out roads, bridges, homes, and livelihoods in some of the country's most remote communities. MRN mobilized immediately. What we have done so far: Delivered food, medicine, and essential supplies directly to Nilkantha Ma.Vi. school for distribution to displaced families, with community kitchens running for those with nowhere to go Completed sacred cremation ceremonies for 50 families — covering ritual costs and coordinating pandits, many of whom served free of charge — so that grieving families could say goodbye with dignity Launched psychosocial and trauma counseling for 60+ children and mothers carrying profound grief, with soft toys and safe-space materials provided for children Met with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bidur Municipality to align on the community's most urgent priority: restoring suspension bridges that connect isolated villages cut off by the floods Coordinated with specialized child protection organizations to reach vulnerable children in their communities, in the language they know The scale of the need: Over 179 families have been displaced. Approximately 70% lost at least one family member. An estimated 200 orphaned children from Betrawati alone are scattered and at elevated risk, requiring urgent identification, placement, and long-term support. Recurring sponsorship cost per child is approximately $750 per year, covering food, education, shelter, and essential care. Rebuilding a single suspension bridge to reconnect isolated villages is estimated at $100,000. What comes next: MRN is coordinating 13-day mourning period support for bereaved families, mobilizing volunteer counselors and social workers, and working to establish a formal coordination table with other relief organizations to eliminate duplication and maximize collective impact. A matched-giving campaign — with up to $25,000 in matching funds from New York-based donors — is currently active, meaning every dollar donated goes twice as far. Our Commitment MRN operates with minimal administrative overhead. Funds raised go directly to the field, managed by trusted coordinators and verified through community partnerships. We report transparently to our donors and maintain full compliance with IRS 501(c)(3) requirements. Every contribution — of any size — reaches people in need. We are grateful for your partnership. What sets MRN apart is accountability. Our board and volunteers take no salary, so 100% of your donation reaches the field — and every expense is documented and published to the last rupee. We work hand-in-hand with local partners and the communities themselves, because lasting recovery is led by the people who live it.
Microsoft partners with Benevity to facilitate its donations. Your points redemption activity will be deducted from your account immediately. Within six weeks after the end of the month in which you redeem your points, Microsoft will make a cash donation based on your redemption to a donor-advised fund at the Benevity UK Online Giving Foundation (OGF), with a recommendation that they make a corresponding grant to your selected nonprofit organization. OGF will take exclusive legal control of Microsoft's donation on your behalf. Donation redemptions are non-refundable. If your chosen nonprofit is not able to receive the donation (for example, if it no longer meets the participation criteria), or if the donation is otherwise undeliverable, the cash donation will be redirected to a nonprofit of Microsoft's choosing.
